Celebrating the Next 30 Years of Life-Saving Domestic Violence Services!

Raphael House of Portland has been offering shelter to women and children fleeing domestic violence since 1977.  Each year, more than 300 women and children access shelter, food, clothing, transportation, support groups and individual support at our Hedco Emergency Shelter and over 3500 people are served by our in-house crisis line. In addition, approximately 400 non-residential survivors receive advocacy services through our transitional program and a program at the Domestic Violence Reduction Unit of the Portland Police.

The mission of Raphael House is to provide a foundation of hope for a life free of family violence.  Thanks to the generous support of our friends, we are able to provide programs that:

  • Save lives
Our crisis intervention program provides women and children with safe housing in the Raphael House Hedco Emergency Shelter and the tools to find permanent safety and new beginnings.
  • Promote self-sufficiency
Our self-sufficiency program offers longer-term housing, giving women and children a safe and nurturing environment in which to rebuild their lives.
  • Prevent domestic violence
Through community events, publications, and our sister website,
www.takecareonline.org, our Education-Prevention program provides people of all ages with critical information about domestic and dating violence, as well as related topics.
